Texture and movement are the inspiration for this blunt, to-the-shoulder bob. A soft, razor cut fringe frames the eyes while tousled and loose curls are layered throughout for natural volume and an unconstructed look. The Sheer Indulgence monofilament crown provides a natural contour. Stop Traffic features the latest cap construction technology by Raquel Welch - the Memory Cap III. The ultimate in light comfort and dependable fit, the makers of this cap took the resilient stretch lace—hallmark of the original Memory Cap design—and coated it with a flexible silicone. This ground-breaking technology yields a superbly comfortable & secure fit while simultaneously maintaining the cap’s shape. It actually molds to the shape of the head for a lighter, cooler, custom-like fit. Care Instructions
Wash
  • Before washing your wig or hair piece, gently remove tangles
  • Fill sink with cool water and submerge wig of hair piece. Emulsify with your choice human hair wig shampoo or Synthetic wig shampoo into the hair. 1
  • It is important to use shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for human or synthetic hair products.
  • Gently lather the hair with shampoo, while making sure that the hair is travelling in the same direction, DO NOT rub hair as this may cause tangling.
  • Rinse thoroughly in cool water until water runs clear.
  • For Human Hair wigs, apply conditioner avoiding the base cap of the wig or hair piece
  • With your fingers, work conditioner through the ends of the has for about 3-5 minutes
  • Rinse thoroughly in cold water until water runs clear
Dry
  • Wrap wig or hair piece in a towel and gently pat dry
  • DO NOT use a brush to detangle your human hair wig while it is wet, gently use a wide tooth comb
For Human Hair Fiber:
  • We recommend using a blow dryer (medium to medium-high heat) to style your human hair wig
  • Using a boar bristle/nylon round brush, work through hair in 2" sections starting at the nape working in a downward motion to ensure that hair stays smooth. Blow hair dry completely directing the hair in the shape you want to style
For Heat Defiant Fiber:
  • Spray with your choice of synthetic leave in conditioner
  • Air drying your wig or hair piece will give the best results. You can gently blow dry (low-medium heat) using only a wide tooth comb.
For Synthetic Fiber:
  • Allow wig or hair piece to dry naturally by placing on a plastic of wire wig stand. DO NOT blow dry.
  • Your wig or hair piece can be styled closer to the head for a fuller look
  • If fullness is desired, backcomb hair gently using your wig comb or brush then smooth the surface hair over
Style
For Human Hair Fiber:
  • It is recommended to use professional grade heat styling tools with digital temperature settings to control heat
  • Your styling tools should be set no higher than 350F to help maintain the integrity of the hair
  • Work in small sections (1-2 inch starting at the nape)
  • When curling your human hair, you can use small metal clips to hold each curl while cooling for a tighter, longer- lasting curl. For a looser, more natural looking curl, allow curls to hang while cooling.
For Heat Defiant Fiber:
  • It is recommended to use professional grade heat styling tools with digital temperature settings to control heat
  • We recommend only using a wide tooth comb and working at 270-280 degrees F.
  • Gently comb hair free of tangles with a wide tooth comb
  • Starting at the nape, take ½ inch to 1½ inch sections of hair (smaller sections = tighter curls, larger sections = looser curls)
  • It is recommended to use a styling spray to protect the fiber
  • Gather hair into curling iron, smooth through to the ends. Roll iron up towards base of wig, staying 1-2 inches away
  • Hold for 10-15 seconds then turn the tip of the iron toward the ground and release curl into palm of hand
  • Holding curl in one hand, gather up towards base and secure curl with a small metal clip (like a pin curl)
  • Allow curl to cool completely (about 5 minutes); remove clip and let curl hang naturally
  • Hair can be combed with your wide tooth comb or fingers to blend curls
For Synthetic Fiber:
  • DO NOT use heat to style synthetic fibers and be cautious when standing near a heat source (i.e. open oven, heater, etc.) as excessive heat can damage the fiber.
  • Simply use your fingertips of wig brush/comb for your desired style.
  • Mono Top wigs allow multi-directional parting in the monofilament area. If the fiber is being resistant when changing the parting, warm your hands by vigorously rubbing them together and place your palm flat on the new part, hold for 10-15 seconds. The warmth from your hands will help the fiber settle into the new parting and direction.
  • When cutting synthetic fiber, we recommend using a dense steel blade shear. We do not recommend using a razor for cutting synthetic fiber. This tool can shred the ends and lead to fraying and damage to the fiber.

Another beautiful style/color by Raquel Welch! However....

RW's Stop Traffic is a beautiful style with soft, silky fibers & a wonderfully comfortable fit for my 22 1/2" circumference.

The color I ordered, Glazed Strawberry (R29S/R29S+), is a lush, gorgeous color. On the piece I received, though, it wasn't quite as red as I hoped. It did have slight tinges of red, but it appeared more blonde. It was not what one would consider the color of a strawberry (well maybe one not quite ripe enough lol). Despite it not being as red as I hoped, it's still a gorgeous color, nonetheless.

While there are so many positives about this wig, unfortunately, it did not work for me. This is no fault of the merchandise; the wig just has way too much hair, and it swallowed my small face. I do not have a wig shop or a salon nearby that is willing to work on wigs, and since I am not a professional stylist; I wouldn't dare to attempt thinning a wig myself, Stop Traffic will have to go back in its box for now. Perhaps when we move, I will be able to find a professional willing to thin it for me. If not, then I will be donating this one

Also, I'd like to add that the price point for this wig is a tad steep, so I waited until there was a wig sale to purchase it. And in my case, that little mono crown really does nothing to enhance the style, so not sure why that was needed. I assume the price point would be lower if that little mono crown wasn't a feature.

All in all, while this wig was gorgeous, it just looked fake on me. My husband, whose opinion I trust completely and who will give me his honest thoughts, commented Stop Traffic looked fake and that it overpowered my face. It's a shame because I'd been wanting to try Stop Traffic for a while and really looked forward to receiving it. I've seen this style looking absolutely beautiful on others, just not on me.

I want to conclude this review on a positive note and once again thank Wigs by Patti's Pearls for their excellent customer service and super-fast shipping. It's always a pleasure to do business with you! :)

They're captured the natural not-stick-straight hair texture

Stop Traffic isn't anywhere near as wavy as shown in the product photos (or the particular wig I received isn't, and I've heard others say the same). This style is a great choice for someone looking to match a natural hair texture that has a subtle wave - not really straight, not really wavy, but somewhere in between. The cut has some pretty layering to frame the face. The monofilament area isn't big enough to be very realistic, though in my experience the vast majority of people aren't scrutinizing your head from above and trying to figure out whether you are wearing a wig, so to me that is not a big deal at all. In general, I don't feel that the special features in cap construction - silicone strip, etc. - are useful (at least for someone who has a bit of bio hair, as I do). I usually wear this wig bobby-pinned at the sides to control the volume a bit; it's a lot of hair for my liking (I prefer super low density styles). I got Stop Traffic in the colour Shadow Shades Eggplant SS 4/33, which is kind of a rich reddish dark brown that looks like you've had your hair professionally coloured. I've read some descriptions of this colour as "natural" and I don't think it's natural at all - it definitely looks like a salon colour to me. I think the Eggplant name is a bit misleading; I was hoping it would be sort of black-brown with purple-red streaks (more of a bold, blantantly unnatural fashion colour), but the overall impression is more a super dark salon auburn that's trying to look natural but not quite pulling it off. One last note: The cap seems to fit quite a bit larger than average.

Beautiful Wig

I was a little hesitant on getting this wig. A lot of wig tutorials videos stated it was not curly just wavy.I took a chance. I also spent a lot of time looking at colors .I'm so happy I got chocolate copper. I have been wearing wigs for years. I will post a picture when I am made up so you can see!!!

This is my new favorite wig!!!

Oh Patti! I bought this after watching the video of you trying it on out of the box. I couldn’t be happier. Got it in the “Sand” color and it is a beautiful blonde with the perfect amount of beachy waves. The length is PERFECTION. It looks exactly like my hair used to before my illness and when I put it on, I cried some tears of joy. I looked like me again! You are a joy to watch; your videos make wigs fun and I’ve learned a lot. I will be buying this wig again. And again.

Stop Traffic is Awesome!

I just received this wig in Chestnut, which is my natural hair color. I have Alopecia and currently am in a very expensive hair club. When my contract is up, I'm outta there. In the meantime, I am preparing myself by purchasing a few wigs and getting used to wearing them instead. I love the Raquel Welch wigs. This one is so natural looking, it looks just like my real hairstyle. My son didn't even realize it was a wig. I'm back to order another color. This is going to be my go-to, everyday wig. I just love it! I wish I could post a picture though.
